Meet Kim

A Passion for Facilitating RESET

My name is Kim and I am passionate about facilitating the journey of RESET! I have gained invaluable experience in counselling and inner healing in a variety of settings.

Apart from counselling in schools, I have run my own counselling practice in the Eastern Cape. For a time, I was registered with the South African Council for Counsellors, but elected to work independently as a Christian faith-based counsellor.

For four years, I lived as a Missionary in Asia, during which time I thoroughly enjoyed being part of multicultural teams travelling through various Eastern countries doing healing and evangelism ministry. It was during this time that I saw God's power and desire to bring healing and freedom to all.

I believe that we are Body, Soul and Spirit — and therefore my ministering style is integrative, incorporating the use of various tools and approaches suited to each individual's journey.

Set on a beautiful, tranquil farm in the Eastern Cape, Sparkling Forest is a place where God's creation speaks — wide open skies, fresh air, birdsong, and the gentle rhythm of farm life creating the perfect backdrop for rest and renewal.

Our retreat accommodation, Beracah Cottage, offers a safe, comfortable, and peaceful setting. Whether you come for a soul care retreat or simply to be alone with God, you'll find space to breathe and be still.

The Story Behind the Name

About the Name

While living in Taiwan, Kim received the Chinese name Jin Lin, meaning Sparkling Forest. When she founded Sparkling Forest Ministries in 2016, this name reflected her vision of how God awakens "dead" places in people's hearts, bringing new growth, joy, and hope.

Retreat Policies

Complete privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times, except in cases where harm to self or others is disclosed.

Children under 13 are not accommodated. For those under 18, signed parental consent is required.

An appropriate adult must be present on the premises during any counselling of those under 18.

Retreat guests are required to sign an indemnity form upon arrival. Right of Admission is reserved.

Counselling sessions can take place in person on the farm, or may be arranged at another suitable location. Each session is approached with prayer, compassion, and complete confidentiality.
